We thought we already had this covered: nail clipping on the subway is not cool, under any circumstances. As it is, we think even nail filing is on the edge of acceptability. But clipping? Between the nails-on-chalk sound and the discarded bits that fly all over the place, it is absurd that we're even having this conversation. And this assumes that we're only talking about fingernails! And yet, in the video below, a man is called a "mental case" for pointing out to a stranger that it's "kinda gross" that he was clipping his nails on the subway. Megan Donovan, a 20-year-old day care worker, was swiftly arrested early Wednesday morning after allegedly having sex with an unidentified 13-year-old the night before. Sources tell the Staten Island Advance that Donovan knew the boy's sister, and that the two had "struck up a romance" that was consensually consummated Tuesday night at the boy's home, while his mother was out. His mom, as it happens, was indicted for perjury last year for allegedly lying to help a man accused of rape.... That's smaller than the previously proclaimed smallest apartment in New York! Felice Cohen (who we mentioned a year before this video was made—so she's been in there for quite some time!), has traded in not having a kitchen for being one block from Central Park, and having other city luxuries that are right outside her front door. Take a look at what $700 will get you on the Upper West Side:... Previously, the Post ran a sad photo of Daramy getting marched out of school in handcuffs and ankle shackles, and today the tabloid follows up with a photo of Daramy defiantly flipping off the tabloid's photographer. We realize Daramy—who was born in a refugee camp Sierra Leone—has his problems, but we've got to give the kid credit for giving the Post the salute it deserves. ... The chain, which originally started in Brooklyn (really!), has been struggling amidst the down economy with roughly $365 million in debt.... [ MORE ] | | Last Friday morning one Bronx man had enough with those pesky kids leaning out of their fancy school buses and taunting him and his niece. So naturally he stormed up to the back of one of those offending vehicles—a bus for special needs kids—opened the unlocked emergency exit, climbed aboard and started beating on 11-year-old Jameel Grant.... Carole Smith says that a coworker complained that she had cast a disabling spell on the heater of her car one snowy evening. When her boss confronted her about the allegations, she said: “I was dumbfounded. I told him, that's not what Wicca is. We don't cast spells. That's not witchcraft. That's black magic or voodoo or something else. To put a spell on a heater of a car, if I had that kind of power, I wouldn't be working for TSA. I would go buy lottery tickets and put a spell on the balls.”... [ MORE ] | | |
