Yesterday morning, an American Airlines flight from Boston to St. Thomas made an emergency landing at JFK Airport after some sort of " pressurization problem in the cabin." The plane apparently dropped 27,000 feet in less than a minute, and one passenger said to the Post, "It was a roller-coaster ride. My stomach... dropped, and I was freaking out. I didn't know what was going on. My heart was pounding. I had sweaty palms." [ MORE]  | President Barack Obama has kicked off his 2012 effort with a campaign video (see below) posted on his website that encourages people to help get out the vote, in hopes of recapturing the grassroots fervor that helped him get elected in 2008. Obama doesn't appear in the video, but many of his supporters do, and one says, "President Obama is one person...Plus he's got a job. We're paying to do a job so we can't ask him to take some time off to get us all energized so we better figure it out."... Now, a private security guard claims that she suffered a broken ankle after police unnecessarily handcuffed and arrested her for not aiding them in subduing a suspect. "I'm not a police officer, just a security guard...I'm not even allowed to step out of the building," Anyeris Reyes told the cops at the time.... According to the Post, the authorities believe that Keith Mastronardi accidentally fell when he was "leaning out the window while smoking." He apparently slipped around 10:25 p.m.... [ MORE ] |  | Everyone has, at one point or another, been stuck in a car behind a slow-moving garbage truck and cursed their luck. Most people, however, have not gone so far as to call some friends over so as to "do something" about it. But that is exactly what it appears 28-year-old Henry Rink did Friday evening when he couldn't get past a garbage truck on East 96th Street in East Flatbush. After yelling obscenities at two sanitation workers blocking his Dodge Charger it appears Rink called a friend over to sucker punch the workers.... Crazy conspiracy theory? That's what they said about the controlled demolition of WTC Building 7, but just take a moment to read this 800-plus comment thread, and all doubt will be dispelled. For years many on the Post's editorial board have speculated that DOT Commissioner Janette Sadik-Khan was the mastermind behind the 9/11 attacks, but nobody was ever able to find a smoking gun—until now. Prepare to take the blinders off, sheeple:... [ MORE ] |  | After all of that fighting, the never ending Atlantic Yards project could now end up just being a nondescript stadium and acres of parking. The project's developer, Forest City Ratner, filed documents with the SEC last week that warn of "further delays" to the non-stadium portions of the project that could lead to the scrapping of most or all of the rest of the 22-acre, $4.9 billion project.
