_Video: Rude Injured Man vs. Rude Subway Seat Hog
Someone named "Joey Boots" (if that is your real name) has posted a video on YouTube showing an encounter with a "selfish and inconsiderate bitch" (his words). He explains that he dislocated his knee last week and has a cane and knee brace, which is keeping his leg outstretched. Yesterday morning our hobbling protagonist "got on the 4 train in the Bronx... the seats in the corners have signs above them saying that is seating for disabled/handicapped passengers. So I asked this lady if I could have the seat as I had to stretch my leg out and didn't want others stepping on it or it being in the way of others and she loudly refuses saying I should sit somewhere else... I point out the sign to her and she just starts cussing and refusing to move." [MORE]

Danger! Teens Attacking Bystanders With Snowballs in BK

As it is, we're terrified of roving gangs of hooligan teenagers, especially on snow days when they have nothing better to do than plot their latest shenanigans. But now we have even more reason to immediately cross the street whenever we see a group of snickering teens: the Post reports that there have been at least five reports of packs of teens attacking unsuspecting people with snowballs, ice and verbal assaults in Bronwnstone Brooklyn (Boerum Hill, Vinegar Hill, DUMBO and Brooklyn Heights). ... Video: Justin Bieber Booed At Last Night's Knicks Game

So the Knicks might not have beaten the Mavericks last night, but sports fans still managed to make something of the game. See, tween heartthrob Justin Bieber was in attendance and apparently Knicks fans aren't "Baby" fans. In the third quarter the Biebs mug was splashed on the big screen and met with... boos. Well, ok, there were apparently a few cheers and a few crying girls as well (we are talking about Justin Bieber). But also booing. ... [ MORE ]

Kelly Choi, TV Personality

Think Korean food. Now think Korean food that's not BBQ or Kimchi. That blank you're drawing is what Kelly Choi has been working hard to change in the US since she began talking about (and tasting food) on TV. The former hostess of Top Chef Masters began her career hosting and producing the ever-popular Secrets of New York in 2005 and won a New York Emmy for Eat Out NY in 2009. ... [ MORE ]

Bloomberg Says City Pensions Should Start At 65

At the State of the City address, Mayor Bloomberg announced that one of his big initiatives would be to reform the current pension system. Now, he's proposed a pension system that would make the retirement age 65—and prohibit workers from being able to pad it, a practice that has boosted some pensions 30-167%. Guess what the unions think? The United Federation of Teachers' president Michael Mulgrew told the Daily News, "[Bloomberg's proposals are] insane. I don't know what to say... The mayor has chosen to no longer have a working relationship with the labor force in New York City... Bloomberg has just decided, 'I'm going to attack, attack, attack everybody.'"... [ MORE ]

How Much Is A Hand Job In Your Neighborhood?

Recently Wired took a look at the sex worker industry in New York City and turned out a series of fun stats! For instance, what would a hand job cost you in your neighborhood? If you're in the Bronx, it's just 75 bucks plus a shot at the bar. In Manhattan, it's $125 north of 14th Street, but if you go to Chinatown or Soho, the price goes up to $175. Meanwhile, in the TriBeca-Wall Street area, a hand job will cost you a whopping $225—that's just $175 less than mommy role-play sex! ... [ MORE ]

Bloomberg's Snow Day Flip-Flop Infuriates City Workers

During last week's snowstorm the Mayor closed all non-emergency government offices and announced that "New York City almost never takes a snow day, but today is one of those rare days." What he forgot to mention, apparently, was that if you didn't show up for work you would lose a day of leave. Sort of. If workers can provide a reason why they weren't at work, they won't be docked. Still, you can imagine how well this is going over.... [ MORE ]
