Why Texas may be a better electric car state than California

It's been a big week for electric cars. Volt-maker GM had a record-breaking $20 billion IPO this week, while VentureBeat learned that Nissan is experiencing delays on its hotly anticipated Leaf, and will only release five this year. Startup Coda is also delaying the release of its electric sedan, but is championing its car and brand as the solution to the gas-spewing ills of Big Auto. Meanwhile, NRG Energy launched the nation's first privately-financed electric car charging station in the unlikely city of Houston, Texas, leading us to ask: Could Texas be a better electric car state than California?
